Wayloun Saints and Beasts cover art - victorian frame- black background
Saints and beasts
the ones never sleep
exist as we breathe
Devourers of our sins
bloodsuckers of the blood we spill

to reign is not to cage them all
Set the beasts and saints aligned
dance & dine with your chaos
their whisper is defined
coiled in the marrow and beyond
their song comes in our between

to deny them, is to deny yourself

We cannot cage the storm
we cannot choke the flame
we dance with those
who know our true name

here we waltz through the time
with beasts & saints alike
it's the chaos we've all known
all our lives

we cannot choke the flame
we won't deny again
all there is is to dance & dine...

Bio

WaylouN is an anonymous metal duo from Tehran, Iran, formed in 2023 with the intention of creating a distinct musical identity built around heaviness, darkness, and experimentation. From the beginning, the project was conceived not simply as a metal band, but as a single entity, with the focus placed on WaylouN itself rather than on the individuals behind it.

The duo released their first material in 2024, initially developing a sound rooted in Death, Thrash, and Groove Metal. Their early recordings were characterized by a dense, imposing wall of sound. Over time, WaylouN's music has evolved toward a more defined and modern approach, which the duo describes as Alternative Metal with hints of Thrash and Groove.

While the sound has become more focused, its darker character remains at the core. A distinctive element of WaylouN's music is the use of Tombak, the "traditional Iranian percussion" instrument. The decision to incorporate Tombak was part of the band's original concept. Rather than following the more established use of traditional Iranian stringed instruments within Iranian metal, WaylouN chose percussion as a way of bringing an element of Iranian musical heritage into its sound without allowing it to become a conventional fusion formula.

Lyrically and thematically, WaylouN explores alienation, social disconnection, inner struggles, failure, and the psychological weight of contemporary life. The band's music often moves between aggression and vulnerability, confronting both external pressures and internal conflict. At its core, WaylouN is interested in the imperfect, uncomfortable, and often contradictory aspects of being human. WaylouN has remained anonymous by choice. The anonymity allows the music to exist as the primary identity of the project, rather than placing individual personalities at its center. It also reflects the circumstances surrounding the creation of metal music in Iran, where the genre continues to face ideological and institutional restrictions despite a gradual expansion of its presence and acceptance over the past decade. Since its formation, WaylouN has released Wayloun (2024), Ravenous Tic (2024), All Who Wander (2024), Shelterless Rage (2025), and Democracy Is a Lie (2025).

From Tehran to wherever the music reaches, WaylouN remains a project about wandering through chaos without pretending to have all the answers; finding identity in uncertainty, strength in vulnerability, and a reason to keep moving.

Discography

WaylouN's single "Democracy is a Lie" cover art framed against a black background, all 3 members of Wayloun are shown in an urban hell
Democracy is a lie
Illusion is the name of game
every voice is heard
all the hands are counted
to choose whatever you want
no one is left behind
take it all with pride
they tell you what you want
it's all formed into freedom

this is a creation of a failing system
a foul scenary of choice & freedom
mistaking ritual for revolution
for all the nescients it's absolution

a guilded shell it is
a velvet cage within
pretentious parity
sacred & meaningless
Our pride in yesterday's truth
The deeds we felt were all due
Becomes this knot to untie
Democracy is a lie

this is their vanity
for the people
sanctity that you believed

the choice of yesterday
betrays you now today
repeats until we die
democracy is a lie
